Alex Kral says Spain “also make mistakes”

“Spain also make mistakes”: Alex Kral stressed that belief ahead of Saturday’s match against Spain in the third round of the Nations League. The midfielder also underlined the challenge facing his team: to win, they will need a “perfect” performance against the reigning world champions.

Kral described the fixture as a source of motivation and a high-level test. To take their chances, he said, his team will have to stay compact and play “with the Czech heart”. His message points to a plan in which collective discipline must help them capitalise on the opponent’s errors.

Spain, then, is not being portrayed as untouchable. But Kral’s point is that identifying weaknesses will not be enough: his team will also have to be precise enough to exploit them. That demand, along with the stature of the opponent, gives the match its significance for his side.
