Poland beat Romania 6-0 on matchday three of Group 4 in League B of the Nations League. Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick to give his side their first win in the campaign. Aged 38, the forward, who played for Barça until last season, is currently with Chicago Fire in MLS.
The match turned in the 24th minute, when Drăgușin was shown a straight red card for conceding a penalty against Lewandowski. The Polish striker converted from the spot to open the scoring. Romania, bottom of the group, remain without a point.
The victory leaves Poland on four points in third place, one behind second-placed Bosnia, who trail Sweden on seven. Lewandowski has now scored 92 goals for Poland. He will miss his side’s next match, on Monday in Bosnia, through an accumulation of yellow cards.
