France and Italy drew 1-1 on Friday at the Stade de France in the Nations League. France remain unbeaten in the competition, but have dropped their first points and still sit top of their group.
After a long spell lacking inspiration, France finally found a way through with a fine combination between Cherki and Michael Olise. The opening goal, however, was not enough to preserve their lead: France then faltered at the back.
A misplaced pass by Rabiot in the middle, followed by a poor touch from Da Cunha, gave Bastoni the opportunity. The Italian won his duel against Maignan to bring the sides level.
Initially impressive but inaccurate, France had to dig deep to salvage a point. The draw ends their perfect points record, but leaves them unbeaten and top of the group.
