England thrash Croatia 7-0, with Gordon at the heart of the win

England handed Croatia a 7-0 defeat in what was described as, almost certainly, the most complete match of the Tuchel era. Gordon, a Barcelona player, scored and provided an assist. Bellingham also stood out, while Kane and Saka each claimed a brace.

The Barça goalkeeper nevertheless made two saves from Gordon. In the 21st minute, a difficult control was followed by a low cross for Bellingham, who finished the move. Gordon, who had already scored against Spain and the Czech Republic, found the net before half-time. Saka also scored before the break, in the 45th minute, after a ball from Bellingham.

Croatia made three changes at half-time, but England continued to find space. Kane and Saka added two more goals after the interval. Kovacic, meanwhile, missed a chance with the goal unguarded. Substitute Morgan Rogers made it 7-0 in the 87th minute after dribbling past Livakovic.

Without Livakovic’s saves, Croatia’s defeat could have been heavier, according to the match account. Croatia are due to face Spain on Tuesday.
