Matarazzo gives Real Sociedad a day off before the return to training

Pellegrino Matarazzo has scheduled a day off for his players on Thursday, following three consecutive days of intense work. Real Sociedad now know the plan for their return after the international break: the coach wants to get the squad back into the rhythm of competition and prepare for Sunday’s visit of Deportivo de La Coruña, at 16:15 at Anoeta.

The break comes ahead of a busier spell, with the start of the Europa League approaching. In this first week, the schedule therefore allows for a midweek pause before training resumes on Friday at 18:00. Preparation will conclude on Saturday with a final morning session at 11:00 behind closed doors, ahead of the match at Anoeta, which will mark LaLiga’s return.

Several internationals, however, are expected to remain away until close to the match. Jon Martín, Sucic, Óskarsson, Oyarzabal, Aramburu and Yangel have a game on Tuesday, and are not expected back until two days before the fixture against Deportivo. Matarazzo will have to get the group back up to speed while managing those absences, before bringing the squad together for the final stretch of preparation.
