The Liga Hypermotion has already had as many leaders as last season

Six teams have already occupied first place during the opening eight rounds of the Liga Hypermotion, matching the number across the whole of last season. There is a qualification to that tally: two teams shared the summit several weeks ago after finishing level on every measure.

Andorra was the first to take the lead, following a 5-1 win over Ceuta in the opening match of the Liga. The club now occupies a relegation place. Granada moved to the top in the third round, before Castellón took over in the fourth. Castellón remains unbeaten, but later surrendered first place after its most recent draw at Castalia.

Eibar is the new leader, with seven consecutive victories. The club had not been top of Segunda since the closing stretch of the 2022-2023 season.

That spread contrasts with the 2025-2026 season, when six teams shared first place: Racing (32), Deportivo (6), Burgos (1), Castellón (1), Valladolid (1) and Cádiz (1). The question now is whether one team can establish itself at the top—and which side will dominate the Hypermotion for a large part of the season.
