Meeting launches assessment of Taïeb Mhiri Stadium in Sfax

A working session focused on assessing and upgrading Taïeb Mhiri Stadium was held on Monday at the governorate headquarters in Sfax, the Tunisian Football Federation announced. The meeting marks the start of the process, but did not announce a final decision on the venue’s approval.

Chaired by the regional governor, it brought together the Federation’s vice-president, the federal member responsible for the senior national team, the secretary-general of the Grand Sfax municipality, the regional delegate for Youth and Sports, and several governorate officials. The Federation said the initiative is part of its plan to upgrade several Tunisian stadiums to meet Confederation of African Football standards. Taïeb Mhiri Stadium is among those that have made significant progress with development work and meeting upgrade requirements.

Participants reviewed the technical and logistical needs before visiting the facilities to assess their compliance with the Confederation’s specifications. The Federation reaffirmed « its full commitment to supporting the development work and providing the necessary technical assistance to Taïeb Mhiri Stadium, as a priority in the current phase, while continuing to monitor the various national stadiums and sports facilities, in a way that helps Tunisian clubs and national teams play their continental matches in the best conditions. »

The Federation is also continuing its contacts and direct efforts with the Confederation and the supervisory authority to speed up approval procedures and complete the upgrades at the stadiums concerned as soon as possible.
