GeneralArab player named among the Golden Boy 2026 nominees
An Arab player is in contention for the Golden Boy in Europe. Twenty-five young players are nominated for the award, which honours under-21 players competing in Europe.

With Carlos Queiroz potentially in the picture, Bahrain has ended its contract with Dragan Talajić. Bahrain’s football federation announced an amicable termination on Monday, following the national team’s exit from the Gulf Cup, “Khaleeji 27.”
At the time of Talajić’s departure, speculation was mounting that the Portuguese coach could take charge of the team for its next phase. Queiroz’s agent had previously revealed that discussions were taking place between the coach and the Bahraini federation about the possibility of him assuming the role.
In a statement, the federation said: “The contract with the national team’s technical staff, led by Croatian coach Dragan Talajić, has been terminated amicably.” It also wished “every success to the technical staff led by Croatian coach Dragan Talajić in the period ahead.”
The departure follows Bahrain’s group-stage elimination from “Khaleeji 27.” The team ended its campaign with a 5-2 defeat to Yemen. Queiroz’s possible appointment remains a matter of speculation, amid talks that his agent had already disclosed.
