Skechers Football Lab offers 12-year-olds the chance to experience football as professionals do. Designed to connect with younger generations, the project comes as youth football is undergoing major change, with young players dreaming of following their idols presented as its main beneficiaries.
The experience took place last weekend in Los Ángeles de San Rafael. More than 160 young applicants were selected for the professional-style camp, accompanied by Beñat San José and Dani Cárdenas. The venue also hosted the event, in a setting associated with the many training camps held by Atlético de Madrid. The young prospects took to the pitch for one of the Skechers Football Lab activities.
After the sessions devoted to academic learning, participants joined training activities with social-media personalities, including Gomeznawer, Cacho01 and Delantero09. They then received advice from Beñat San José, a coach, and Dani Cárdenas, Rayo Vallecano’s goalkeeper, two prominent figures in LaLiga EA Sports. Javier Gutiérrez, Skechers Iberia’s marketing director, is also associated with the project.
Beyond the camp, the stated aim is to build a connection between the brand, football and younger generations, backing emerging talent and the creation of a community around the sport.
