Musab Al-Juwayr joins title celebrations but refuses to be filmed

Musab Al-Juwayr joined the Saudi selection’s title celebrations despite being absent from its tournament list. The Al-Qadsiah midfielder went onto the pitch after the final whistle and celebrated with his teammates and the technical staff. He was also seen carrying a Saudi flag among the players and supporters.

The selection had secured the Arab Gulf Cup « Khaleeji 27 » with a 2-0 victory over the United Arab Emirates in the final, in a festive atmosphere inside the stadium.

Al-Juwayr’s presence came after he had been left out of the training camp before the competition began for disciplinary reasons. Despite that omission and his absence from the list, he had been keen to support his teammates throughout their run to the title.

His appearance on the night also included a firm refusal to be filmed. Media representatives were trying to get a comment from him during the celebrations, but he did not want to speak on camera.
