Javier Aguirre gets players back before his Valencia debut

Javier Aguirre has more options in his squad ahead of his debut in charge of Valencia. César Tárrega and Mouctar Diakhaby have fully recovered from their injuries before Sunday’s trip to face Racing de Santander at El Sardinero.

Valencia returned to training on Tuesday after two days off, with that match in focus. Aguirre will take charge of the team for the first time and will be seeking its second win of the season.

The squad is not yet complete. Ryunosuke Sato brought forward his return from Japan’s national-team camp on his own initiative so he could report to Aguirre as soon as possible. Stole Dimitrievski and Guido Rodríguez, meanwhile, are still due to rejoin the team.

The recoveries of Tárrega and Diakhaby therefore give Aguirre additional choices before his first match, with further returns still awaited.
