Al Ahly start Dari and hand Tawfiq Mohamed his first start against Assiut Petroleum

Hussein Ammouta has announced Al Ahly’s starting line-up to face Assiut Petroleum on Wednesday evening in the Egypt Capital Cup. Achraf Dari returns to the starting side for the first time this season, while Tawfiq Mohamed, a recent arrival at the club, is set for his first appearance in Al Ahly’s starting XI after Ammouta selected him.
Dari’s return follows a spell away from the team. On 10 January, against Pharco, he played his last match for Al Ahly before leaving on loan for Kalmar. He returned to the club after the season ended.
Al Ahly are in Group C alongside Arab Contractors, Gouna, Assiut Petroleum and ENPPI. The team will be looking to make a strong start to its campaign. The match against Assiut Petroleum is part of the Egypt Capital Cup for the 2026-2027 season.
