Jamal Musiala has returned to the training pitch at Bayern after his injury. His comeback remains at an early stage: on Wednesday, he completed an individual session outdoors rather than joining the rest of the squad, Kicker reports. The 23-year-old midfielder has not yet resumed full team training.
Musiala was injured before Germany’s 1-1 draw with the Netherlands and had to miss the match. Nadiem Amiri took his place in the starting line-up. The Bayern Munich player was subsequently diagnosed with a muscle fibre tear and returned to Munich to begin his recovery.
His return to the pitch is an encouraging step, but there is still no indication of when Musiala will be able to train fully with his team-mates. Individual work is intended to rebuild his fitness while the club monitors how the injured muscle responds. Bayern will have a clearer idea of when he can return to competitive action only once he is able to train with the group.
Musiala has become an important part of Bayern’s plans and one of the club’s leading attacking midfielders. Even so, the club intends to manage his recovery rather than rush him back. The timing matters with nine matches scheduled across four weeks, during a demanding month for Bayern. His return to training offers encouragement, but it does not mean he is fully recovered or that a return date has been set.
