Al-Hilal have welcomed Ali Lajami back ahead of their clásico against Al-Ittihad, three days after announcing the defender’s recovery. The news follows Theo Hernandez’s return as the club prepare to host Al-Ittihad at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh next Saturday, in the eighth round of the Roshn League.
Lajami was injured during Al-Hilal’s 3-0 win over Al-Ahli at the start of last September, in the third round of the Roshn League. He had been absent from the team ever since. On Wednesday, the defender took part in the first part of Al-Hilal’s group training session as they prepared to face Al-Ittihad.
The clásico also comes with the league’s top spot in focus for Al-Hilal. The club are aiming to win and stay at the summit: they have 18 points, one more than second-placed Al-Ameed. Lajami’s return follows that of Theo Hernandez, who was also injured in the match against Al-Ahli. Al-Hilal therefore have another defender back as they approach a significant league fixture.
