Nader Rashad, coach of Egypt’s national futsal team, has announced the players selected to represent the Pharaohs at the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations. The competition is scheduled to run from Monday, October 12, to Wednesday, October 21.
The squad includes Ibrahim El Sayed, Ahmed Fekry, Mostafa Ishaq, Alaa Eissa, Abdel Rahman Sayed, Anas Khaled Zakaria, Ahmed Ali, Ragab Ramadan Ali, Mohamed Ahmed Salman, Khaled Yousry, Mohamed El Watidi, Mohamed Talaat, Youssef El Shahed and Mohamed Said Labib.
As part of their preparations, the Pharaohs played two friendlies against Zambia ahead of the competition in Morocco. They won the first 7-2 and the second 4-1.
This edition is expected to be played under the Confederation of African Football’s new system. It is an independent continental competition and does not provide qualification for the Futsal World Cup.
