Ahmed Abdel Razek, coach of the national beach soccer team, has announced his selections for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Angola. The squad comprises 14 players.
The delegation is due to fly to Angola at dawn on Thursday. The first leg is scheduled for Sunday, 11 October, as part of qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations, which is to be held in Senegal. The competition also offers qualification for the World Cup, scheduled to take place in Brazil next year.
The players named include Mostafa Ahmed, Mostafa Sasa, Haytham Mohamed Atef, Hassan Mohamed Hassan, Abdelrahman Hassan El Shafei, Ahmed El Shehat, Karim Sayed, Mohamed Abdelnabi, Ahmed Hassan, Ismail Bahgat, Hossam Paulo and Abdel Rahman Reiha.
The backroom staff includes Ahmed Abdel Razek and Mostafa Samir as coaches, with Yasser Abdelkhalek serving as goalkeeper coach. Adel Mahfouz is administrative director and acting head of delegation. Rageh El-Mamdouh is the media coordinator; Mohamed Akmal is the team doctor, Abbas Hassanein handles massage and physiotherapy, and Islam Shaker is responsible for equipment.
