Espanyol are welcoming back their captain: Javi Puado has been named in Manolo González’s squad for Friday’s trip to Málaga, scheduled for 21:00. The RCD Espanyol player suffered a serious injury on 11 January at Ciutat de València. His return to the squad does not, however, guarantee him playing time.
Manolo said at a press conference that Puado had been training normally for two weeks. Asked whether the player might feature at La Rosaleda, the coach said: “He is a very mature player, a person who is always balanced and always tells you how he feels. We’ll decide based on that.” The captain’s sensations will therefore inform the decision, according to his coach.
Jofre Carreras remains unavailable to Manolo because of a pubis problem. He has missed the last two matchdays.
