Bayern Munich have opened talks over a contract extension for Michael Olise, with Real Madrid monitoring the situation and anticipating a favourable outcome for the German club. The French player, recently in impressive form, could become Bayern’s highest-paid squad member ahead of Jamal Musiala if the terms being discussed for a new deal come to pass.
Sky Sport Germany reports that preliminary talks have already taken place. According to the same report, Real Madrid believe Olise will eventually extend his commitment to Bayern. Sky added that a move to the Madrid club would be the only scenario capable of disrupting Bayern’s plans to keep him for the long term.
Olise joined Bayern from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 for 60 million euros and has risen rapidly since. His current contract runs until 2029 and contains no release clause.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, a member of Bayern’s supervisory board, expressed confidence that Olise and Harry Kane would stay: “Both intend to remain at Bayern for a long time.” He also said: “I hope, and I am even very confident, that Harry will extend his contract soon. And that Michael will be next.”
