The person responsible for the drone show that overshadowed Messi has broken her silence following the controversy. Sancor Seguros has also spoken out about the sequence in the sky over Buenos Aires during Leo Messi’s match with Argentina.

Before the show, the company had framed its tribute as a moment for the captain: “Today an era in Argentine football comes to an end. Leo’s. La Pulga’s. The number 10’s. The captain who made us dream, believe and feel more pride than ever in this shirt. Some nights stay with us forever. And once again, we’ll be there to support him.”

But the Sancor Seguros name appeared in the sky before the image of Leo Messi. The sequence prompted strong indignation in Argentina and whistles at the Monumental, giving the tribute a very different impact from the one announced.

After the controversy, the company posted a message on Instagram acknowledging the mismatch: “We filled the sky with lights. And we learned something: when Leo is there, he is the only one who shines. We heard you. Thank you always, Captain.” Sancor Seguros’ response addressed the central criticism: the show was meant to accompany Messi, but its execution first drew attention to the company.
