Cagliari could ask for up to €25 million for Elia Caprile, whose start to the season has revived interest from leading Italian clubs. The club are not currently negotiating an extension with their goalkeeper, whose contract runs until 30 June 2029.

Caprile has been valued at €20 million to €25 million. That would be a substantial increase on the €8 million Cagliari paid Napoli to sign him permanently. Caprile initially joined the Sardinian club on loan in January 2025. No formal agreement or completed transfer has been reported, and there are no talks to extend his contract beyond its current expiry date.

AC Milan and Inter are among the clubs reported to have monitored his situation. Earlier approaches were reportedly complicated by Cagliari’s valuation. Caprile’s performances since the start of the season have strengthened his reputation, making his future a potentially more significant issue as the campaign progresses.

At the end of the current season, he will have two years left on his contract. Cagliari will then have to weigh keeping a goalkeeper whose start to the season has impressed against the prospect of a sale before his deal enters its final two years. A departure is not yet imminent.
