Rangers moved to the top of the Scottish Premiership by beating Kilmarnock 3-1, with Ryan Naderi scoring twice. It was the club’s sixth successive league victory and seventh in all competitions. Kevin Kelsy also found the net before the break as Rangers moved ahead of Celtic in the table.
The win did not come without a late setback. Rangers missed the chance to keep a fifth consecutive clean sheet when Nicky Clescenco, introduced as a Kilmarnock substitute, pulled one back with a counter-attack in the closing moments. Derek McInnes would have had little to admire in Rangers’ second-half performance. Kilmarnock, bottom of the table, had passed up several chances before finally scoring.
The visitors finished with six shots on target to Rangers’ four. However, Rangers goalkeeper Ivor Pandur had been seriously tested only once before he was beaten. Rangers now sit ahead of Celtic, who can regain top spot by getting a result against Motherwell on Sunday.
