FIFA has concluded a workshop on the development of African football in Tunisia, with Shawky Gharib taking part. Representatives of 26 national federations gathered to examine strategic plans and ways to advance the game in the coming period.

The discussions covered several areas: improving the organisation of African football, putting broader strategies into action and strengthening the scientific content of training for coaching licences and certificates. The aim is to reinforce the training system and support the development of the game across the continent.

School football also received particular attention. Promoting it in coordination with national federations was presented as a way to identify talent, develop young players’ abilities and broaden participation across African countries.

At the workshop, a delegation from the Federation included Shawky Gharib, its technical director, Gamal Mohamed Ali, director of the coaches’ department, and Salah Ali, competitions official.
