In the MotoGP paddock, Máximo Quiles is described as “one of the chosen ones”, with “special talent” and a bright future ahead. The young rider has already won his first Moto3 title, and some see that success as a beginning rather than an endpoint. Presented as Marc Márquez’s protégé, he is drawing attention beyond his sporting result.
His name, Gladiator, refers to the protagonist of the film of the same name. At four, he first got on a minimoto in an open plot of land in Murcia. Máximo watched motorcycle racing at home and became passionate about it, with Marc Márquez as his clear idol.
The connection with the Márquez family later became concrete: at the end of 2022, the family signed him through Vertical, their management company. The expectations surrounding him also reflect a career that had already drawn notice: in 2025, he finished runner-up, while comparisons with Marc were beginning to emerge. Marc has always sought to keep his feet on the ground.
