Yamashita won the Korea Championship by setting a course record on the final day. She got off to a strong start with birdies at the third, fifth, eighth and 10th holes, putting herself in a good position with seven holes left.
Miyu Yamashita carded a 63, nine under par, to finish at 22 under and win by three strokes. At New Korea Country Club, the fifth-ranked player remained without a bogey and had held the lead since the halfway point.
“I’m so happy. Today my shots, my putting, everything was feeling so good. I trusted my game. I like this course,” Yamashita said. She also noted that it was her first time playing the tournament: “I’m so happy to win, and I also didn’t think I could win so many times. So I’m happy about that.”
