Pacheta expects “a complex game, with tough duels and second balls” against Burgos. The Granada coach was speaking about Monday’s meeting in the ninth round of LaLiga Hypermotion, and hopes his side can perform well “with and without the ball” to secure a good result.
The previous round’s 3-2 win over Real Sociedad B, after Granada had trailed 2-0 at half-time, gave the squad plenty to learn from, he said at Sunday’s press conference. Pacheta praised a “humble and hard-working” dressing room that grows through both mistakes and success. “It is always more enjoyable to learn in victory, although great achievements are built by learning from defeats,” he added.
For the matches ahead, the coach wants his team to be “closer together” and to “keep the ball well” so they can make the difference. He also praised Burgos for doing things well over several seasons, with the same sporting directorate and ownership. Pacheta believes the club is achieving important things and will eventually reap the rewards.
Competition for a place in the starting line-up is heightened by Owen Emeka’s return, which Pacheta called “a very welcome problem”, given the number of players available in every position. The team faces four matches over the next seventeen days. Baila Diallo and Kader Bamba are among the fit players who could get minutes, but the coach urged caution to prevent setbacks.
