“We expect more goals from the forwards,” García Plaza said. The Sevilla coach spoke at a press conference ahead of the match against Levante, scheduled for tomorrow at 9 p.m. as the eighth round of LaLiga EA Sports concludes. He had addressed the media after the final training session before the trip to Valencia.
Competition resumes after a lengthy international break. García Plaza was unhappy with the interruption, particularly while Sevilla were showing a good level, and his message focused on the contribution he expects from the attacking players.
“Lucas and Isaac have to score, as forwards do in general. We have scored only two goals through our forwards. We certainly expect more from them. Peque has scored one as well,” the coach said. He also said he had not discussed the matter with the player in question, while praising his work and expressing confidence that a goal would come if he continued in the same way. Robbie Ure has yet to get off the mark. García Plaza said he applies the same pressure to everyone.
The coach also stressed that scoring is the responsibility of the whole team. His demand for more from the forwards is therefore part of a collective expectation, with Sevilla returning to league action after the international break.
