Crystal Palace came from behind to defeat Nottingham Forest 3-1 in the Premier League. The match took place at Selhurst Park, where the London side claimed its first league victory over Forest. Palace’s previous 12 meetings with the club had brought eight draws and four defeats, ending a run that had stood in its way.

There were chances at both ends. Morgan Gibbs-White came close to extending Forest’s advantage when his shot bounced off the underside of the crossbar, but Liam Delap could not reach the rebound. In the closing minutes, Chris Wood had an opportunity to cut the deficit. Benítez saved his attempt, and Palace held on to its lead until the final whistle.

The result also matters for Palace’s recent league form. The club had won only two of its previous 13 league matches, alongside four draws and seven defeats in that spell. The three points move Palace above Nottingham Forest in the standings. Walter Benítez was also named man of the match, receiving the award from Flashscore.

Beyond the table, the win gives Palace its first league success against Forest after 12 meetings. The 3-1 scoreline capped an important evening for the London side, which turned the game around and protected its advantage through to the end.
