The Jaguars beat the Eagles 19-17 in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, thanks to Cam Little’s 57-yard field goal as time expired. It was a stunning finish after Philadelphia appeared to have the game won with only seconds remaining.
With under four minutes left, Trevor Lawrence found Parker Washington for a 27-yard touchdown on fourth down, putting the Jaguars ahead 16-14. Jacksonville then forced the Eagles to punt with two minutes to play. But Jalen Hurts drove Philadelphia 32 yards in nine plays, setting up Jake Elliott’s 48-yard field goal with 12 seconds remaining. In a stadium with an Eagles-heavy crowd, the 17-16 score looked set to secure a Philadelphia win.
Little had the final say with his decisive kick. The teams traded field goals in the closing stages of a compelling game in London. Earlier, Josh Cameron returned the kickoff 90 yards for a Jacksonville touchdown, and the Jaguars opened the scoring shortly afterwards. Lawrence also connected with Washington for a 51-yard touchdown. The Eagles went ahead twice, first through Will Shipley and then on Darius Cooper’s 61-yard touchdown.
The win moves the Jaguars to 4-1 this season. The Eagles fall to 2-3 after a campaign so far marked by injuries and disappointment. Lawrence threw for 331 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception. Washington had six catches for 124 yards and two touchdowns. For Philadelphia, Hurts completed 21 of 40 passes for 220 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions; Cooper made two catches for 71 yards.
The NFL’s next London game is scheduled for Sunday, October 18 at Wembley, where the Jaguars will host their division rivals, the Houston Texans.
