Raba has found a way back into the spotlight under Aguirre: starting in the Mexican coach’s first match, he scored in less than 100 seconds. After spending more than a year in the shadows, this return could transform his role in the team.
He did not celebrate his goal, which came against the club where he developed as a player. The finish nevertheless showcased his technical quality, with a cut inside followed by a well-placed shot. In the league, Raba had played only 88 minutes over the previous calendar year; he made his first start under the Mexican coach and scored before the second minute.
Dani Raba arrived at Valencia the previous summer as a free agent from Leganés, after a difficult spell. Across one calendar year, he had not reached 100 minutes of playing time, spread over ten appearances.
Aguirre opted to trust him in his first days at Valencia, and the forward responded almost immediately. That strong start could now radically change his place in the team.
