Marín to miss Real Sociedad’s trip to Málaga

Marín will not travel with Real Sociedad to Málaga next Sunday. Sent off against Deportivo after an incident involving Nsongo in the penalty area that brought a penalty regarded as questionable, he will miss the team’s next league match. His absence further complicates matters at right-back, already a problem position for the side.
The match against Deportivo was Marín’s first appearance this season, following an injury and then a relapse. Matarazzo had selected him on the right after he arrived in time to replace the injured Aramburu and Héctor Fort, who lacked match rhythm and had yet to recover fully.
A possible return for Marín at full-back in Europe on Thursday remains to be seen. For Sunday’s game in Málaga, the American coach will have to find another solution. Zubeldia could be an option: he has played in that position against Real Madrid and has also just recovered from an injury that kept him out for a month.
