Max Verstappen won the Singapore Grand Prix on 11 October 2026, making his presence felt in Formula 1. His return comes too late to fight for the title, but it has stirred the battle and sent a signal ahead of 2027.

Verstappen is 119 points behind the Italian, and his comeback is considered impossible against Kimi’s consistency. The title could be decided in Austin or Mexico if nothing disrupts the situation.

The Dutchman said the car had improved at different circuits. “It is easier to drive and more predictable. It is what I wanted and needed from the car, and it was the final step we had to take,” he said. He wants to keep that run going and pursue success in the remaining races, even though he believes there is nothing left to do in the championship.

He also pointed to what had been learned since the opening race and the weaknesses that had been fixed, while stressing that the team must continue that work for next season. His Singapore victory marks a return to form, but does not erase the gap separating him from the title fight.
