Getafe is pressing ahead with its bid to sign Dani Carvajal while preparing another significant arrival. An agreement is already in place with the 34-year-old defender; the club is now waiting for LaLiga’s approval, which is expected soon.
The move comes in a particularly demanding season for Getafe. Last season, José Bordalás guided the team to European qualification. The squad must therefore balance the Conference League with domestic competition this season. In the final days of the transfer window, and again after it closed, Bordalás repeatedly said that he considered his squad too small and was unhappy with the players available to him.
Getafe could also bring back Dani Parejo. The 37-year-old midfielder could return to the Coliseum, where he spent two seasons before moving to Valencia and then Villarreal. Getafe is reportedly in talks with him, and the player is said to view a return to the club favourably.
LaLiga’s approval remains the next step for Carvajal, while a possible return for Parejo would offer another route to strengthening the squad.
