The figures for Athletic’s other forwards offer a glimpse of Gorka Guruzeta and Maroan Sannadi’s place in Edin Terzic’s squad. Guruzeta has accumulated 178 minutes, putting him 16th in the ranking. His playing time has followed a varied sequence: he started the first two matches, against Sevilla and Barça, then came on during the second half in each of the next two.

His involvement was subsequently interrupted by a muscular injury to his right leg. He missed the two matches against Elche and Alavés. On Saturday at Vallecas, he was on the bench, with Iñaki Williams leading the attack. Those details place Guruzeta’s 178 minutes in a period of changing appearances, followed by an absence and a substitute role.

The tally of matches played in full so far also stands at three out of six: two away, against Barça and Celta, and one at San Mamés against Atlético. That figure adds another point of reference for the forwards’ playing time, while their routes through the team have differed.

Maroan Sannadi, meanwhile, made his mark in the Euskal Herria Txapela final on 2 October. He started and scored the winning goal with a diving header from a Robert Navarro free kick. That goal was a notable moment in his recent run, while Guruzeta’s figures chiefly reflect an uneven presence in the rotation.
