Zamalek has stepped up its criticism of the referees’ committee over errors during the high-profile match. The club is calling for some names within the committee to leave, said Maher Gharib, director of its media department. He warned that Zamalek would not stay silent about the decisions.
Speaking on radio, Gharib said his club had been wronged and rejected the idea of not reviewing refereeing errors. He also said the committee could send the federation a video examining the referee’s decisions to show that the official had made a mistake.
Gharib added that the committee should issue an official apology for the officiating in the match between Al Ahly and Zamalek. He also said he expected it to approach the federation about the errors in that game.
“Zamalek will obtain redress for what happened in the high-profile match,” Gharib said. He cited concerns about the selection of some names within the committee and warned that, if the situation continued, the club would call for some of them to leave.
