Ismaël Ben Nasser is moving closer to a return to the Greens’ plans. The Al-Gharafa midfielder could again be considered for the national team in the coming period, provided he regains his usual level and good physical condition through regular appearances in the Qatar Stars League Ooredoo.
The national team’s recent training camps have highlighted a need for experienced players who are ready to compete. That gives Ben Nasser an opportunity to show what he can do and challenge for a starting place.
His potential return to the national team comes, however, at a difficult time with his club. After being shown a straight red card for a strong tackle on an Al-Hilal player in the last continental meeting, Ben Nasser was suspended by the disciplinary committee of the Asian Football Confederation. He will miss Al-Gharafa’s next three AFC Champions League Elite matches.
