Arteta hopes Messi is right about Max Dowman

Mikel Arteta hopes Lionel Messi is right about Max Dowman, Arsenal’s young talent. Asked about the Argentine legend’s view, the coach said: “If Messi, who is the best player in history, says that, I think his eyes see better than anyone else’s. We hope he is right.”

Arteta also praised Dowman’s qualities, pointing to his early appearances: “In the few appearances he has made, he has already done amazing things. He is a player with exceptional talent. He is a joy to watch: the way he moves, the way he touches the ball, the way he conducts himself — all of it is different. That is what makes him unique.”

The attention on the youngster also features in an Adidas campaign: the brand’s new advertisement places him among 10 players expected to write the next chapter of football. Last Sunday, Adidas launched the third season of “Messi +10”, a campaign for which the Argentine star selected 10 young football talents.
