The NFL has suspended Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson for two games after he struck Buffalo Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb following their Monday Night Football game. The Bills had beaten the Rams 37-34 in overtime at SoFi Stadium.

Jackson was swapping jerseys with another Bills player when Chubb spoke to him and then walked away. Jackson followed and confronted him before striking him in the face, knocking Chubb’s hat off. The league described the blow as “an act of unsportsmanlike conduct.”

Jackson could miss games against Arizona and Las Vegas. Rams coach Sean McVay said the player would appeal the ruling. “Have to make better decisions than that,” McVay said.

McVay also named David Quessenberry as the Rams’ starting left tackle while Jackson is absent. The announced appeal and the suspension leave the replacement for the starting tackle as an immediate concern for the Rams.
