Mouloudia drew 1-1 with ASO Chlef yesterday at Martyr Mohamed Boumezrag Stadium. The away match appeared within the team’s reach as it unfolded, but Boungoura’s missed penalty added to the difficulty. The setback comes before Mouloudia’s continental fixture.
At the same time, Mouloudia Alger’s administration ended Mohamed Hakim Hadj Redjem’s involvement with the club and decided to suspend his membership of the board. Abdelraouf Ahmia is to replace him in the new structure. Hadj Redjem had remained for a short transition period to complete the handover; once that process was over, his links with the administration were ended definitively.
The change had been expected after the announcement on 7 September 2026 that Mohamed Arabi Yaakoubi had been appointed board president in place of Hadj Redjem. Other changes to the administrative structure were also set in motion, including the appointment of new members and the end of some former members’ terms. The structure announced in September included Mohamed Arabi Yaakoubi, Hafedh Stambouli, Abdelnour Kaoua and Ali Abderrahim. Abdelraouf Ahmia is now set to take Hadj Redjem’s place.
Well-informed sources report that Hadj Redjem was notified of the suspension of his membership in an official letter. His relationship with the board had reportedly been strained in recent times. Reports had also raised the possibility of his return as sporting director after the “coup” against Amer Mensoul. Other sources link the speculation to a statement from Mouloudia Alger’s official account denying that a new sporting director had been appointed. They interpret the clarification as an effort to end speculation about Hadj Redjem’s future at the club and a possible return.
The changes come as Mouloudia prepares to travel to Nigeria on Wednesday on a special flight. Khaled Ben Yahia’s team is due to face Enugu Rangers there on Sunday, 18 October, in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the African Champions League. The draw at Chlef and the administrative upheaval form the backdrop to that continental assignment.
