Mohamed Salah has brought his Liverpool spell to a close after nine successful years. He scored 257 goals, placing him third on the club’s all-time scoring list, and helped the team win eight titles.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker discussed the forward’s departure from the club. He believes Liverpool can continue despite losing players who have left a major mark on its history, while recognising the lasting place they hold in football.

In comments reported by ESPN, Alisson said: “These players have certainly made, and continue to make, major contributions, whether with their clubs or their national teams.” He added that their influence will last as long as they keep playing, before noting that “life moves on, whether in Brazil or Liverpool.”

The goalkeeper also described a team in transition: “Liverpool is a great team, we have signed new players and we have a strong group here; things keep moving and changing.”

Alisson also acknowledged the nostalgia that follows such departures: “We will always miss them and look forward to experiencing those moments again.” Salah’s departure closes a long chapter at Liverpool, with 257 goals and eight titles among its achievements.
