Bentayeb has emerged as one of the Belgian league’s standout players. The Moroccan forward has helped Anderlecht to three consecutive wins, scoring in each match, the Belgian newspaper « DH Les Sports » says.
The newspaper also highlights his physical work: Bentayeb covers around 11 kilometres and makes 12 accelerations every 90 minutes. He also contributes to pressing opponents and building play.
His finishing stands out in the figures from the last three matches: three goals from eight shots, a 38 per cent conversion rate. His expected-goals total, meanwhile, did not exceed 1.19. A graduate of the Mohammed VI Football Academy, Bentayeb is attracting attention both for his scoring efficiency and his contribution to the team’s play.
He joined Anderlecht last summer from French club Troyes in a transfer worth 4.5 million euros, including bonuses. He arrived after finishing as the top scorer in France’s second division with 20 goals.
