Ehab Abu Jazar believes Al Ahly won its clash with Zamalek by making the most of the small details. The Palestine coach also says Wessam Abu Ali’s absence is a setback for his team as it approaches the Asian Cup.

Discussing the match, Abu Jazar said its technical level was below that of previous meetings between the two sides, describing it as very poor in that respect. In his view, Al Ahly took its chances and scored twice, while Zamalek failed to create genuine scoring opportunities. The coach added that he always follows the big games between the clubs and has not missed one since he began following football.

Abu Jazar also praised the technical benefits of the Palestine team’s latest training camp in China, held ahead of preparations for the Asian Cup. He said three matches against teams with different styles had helped the coaching staff make progress in both defence and attack. “The camp was quite remarkable,” he said. The staff have already settled about 80% of the squad list for the tournament.

With the Asian Cup approaching, the coach described injured Wessam Abu Ali as an important and influential player for Palestine, and his absence as a loss to the team. He also noted that the forward had put up good numbers after leaving Al Ahly and before his injury, and had been close to remarkable figures in the American league. Despite that loss, Abu Jazar stressed that the team had several attacking options.
