Vinícius will serve a four-match suspension and miss the Clásico against Barcelona. The Brazilian winger, who plays for Real Madrid, was sent off against Villarreal and then sanctioned after pulling Nathan Saliba’s hair and protesting to the referee, according to the reported details of the disciplinary decision.
The disciplinary commission of the Federation said on Wednesday that the suspension would include the Clásico, scheduled for 25 October. The incident came during a Villarreal counterattack: Vinícius had scored his team’s second goal, but it was disallowed after a video assistant referee review.
The suspension consists of two matches for the red card and two more for the protests towards the referee. It will keep Vinícius out of a major fixture against Barcelona, described as the leaders and defending champions in the Spanish league.
