Asked about doubts over PSG’s collective performances and his own displays, Dembélé brushed the subject aside. “We don’t care at all that people doubted us,” he said on Canal+. He also stressed that the team remained focused on the first half of the season: “It’s October, it’s the second Champions League match and we’re staying focused. We know that in the first part of the season we need to stay on track, then prepare for the second part of the season.”
Asked whether he had wanted to set the record straight, he replied with a laugh: “Did I want to set the record straight? Not at all; there was the international break and then I went on holiday.” He also joked: “I might ask for some more holidays.”
