Poland-Sweden: the recent 3-2 defeat sets the scene for Nations League clash

Poland face Sweden in the Nations League at Tarczyński Arena in Wrocław, with their 3-2 defeat to their opponents in World Cup qualifying earlier this year still a recent reminder. That loss was another setback for the Poles, despite their victories over Albania and Malta in the qualifying campaign.

The upcoming meeting between the two European sides is billed as decisive for the group, with promotion prospects and the standings at stake. Poland come into the fixture after a five-match run featuring one win, one draw and three defeats. The match is scheduled for Wrocław, but its kick-off time has not yet been set. The 3-2 result earlier this year adds to a recent run of success for Sweden: in March 2026, they had already beaten Poland by the same score in World Cup qualifying. The teams also met at Euro 2020, when Sweden won 3-2. Earlier, in March 2022, Poland won 2-0 at home in a qualifying match. Those results add context to the latest meeting, without deciding how it will unfold.
