Hummam Al-Hammami is edging closer to leaving Al-Shabab, the club he joined in the summer of 2025. The player, who made his name at the 27th edition of the Gulf Arab Cup, known as “Khaleeji 27”, could depart after discussions over his contract stalled.

Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah reports that negotiations between Al-Shabab and Al-Hammami over an extension have stopped, with the two sides unable to agree on the renewal terms. The 22-year-old has previously played for Al-Ittihad and Al-Kholood. For Al-Shabab, he has made 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing 3 assists.

The newspaper says Al-Hammami has attracted interest from several Saudi Roshn League clubs, including Al-Diriyah, recently promoted from the first division. His contract situation creates the possibility of a move without a transfer fee: his deal with Al-Shabab expires at the end of the current season. He will be able to sign for another team next January and join it for free next summer.
