Athletic face a home test against the league’s bottom side

Athletic are set for a home match that will test their strength against the side at the bottom of the table. Athletic Femenino also return to competition tomorrow, taking on Valencia in Liga F Moeve after the league paused last weekend.

Valencia are also going through a difficult spell in the standings, like the men’s team. Their start to the season has brought six defeats: at home to Madrid CFF (1-3), Tenerife (1-2) and Real Sociedad (0-1), followed by away losses to Alavés (2-0), Logroño United (2-1) and Real Madrid (3-1).

Athletic Femenino return after the national team played two friendlies against the United States on American soil. Adriana Nanclares impressed in the first, while Clara Pinedo made her debut for the senior national team. Víctor Martín, meanwhile, has begun his time in the Bilbao dugout with good results and has rotated his goalkeepers so far.

Against a Valencia side in difficulty, the return to action therefore presents Athletic Femenino with a demanding fixture as they resume league play after the break.
