“I was the one who made the decision,” Badosa said of her professional split from her former coach. Paula Badosa and Pol Toledo ended their working relationship two days ago, and the player made clear that the decision was hers.
On Friday, the Begur player broke her silence with a brief message on social media, posted on Instagram. “Following the recent reports, I want to clarify that I made the decision to end my professional journey with Pol. I’m grateful for our time together and wish him all the best,” she wrote.
There will be no replacement for the rest of the season. “I’ll continue working with my current team, focusing on my tennis and enjoying the competition. I’m looking forward to finishing the year strongly and excited about what lies ahead in 2027,” she added.
Badosa has thus confirmed that ending the player-coach relationship was her decision. She intends to continue the season with her current team before turning to what lies ahead in 2027.
