Morgan Rogers has praised João Pedro’s work at Chelsea, saying his contribution extends beyond his goals. Rogers joined Chelsea from Aston Villa during the summer and made an immediate impression. Figures reported for the club’s opening six Premier League fixtures give him four goals and an assist, while João Pedro has five goals and three assists.
Rogers highlighted how important João Pedro’s commitment is to the team. “I think his hunger to score goals and his hunger to work for the team is incredibly important,” he said. He also explained that his teammate’s movement gives him a passing option and helps their partnership. In Rogers’ view, João Pedro does more than finish chances: his runs into space and defensive work matter too. He believes the Brazilian is currently in the best form of his career.
João Pedro joined Chelsea from Brighton in the summer of 2025 and has become an important part of the attack. Rogers spoke in the wake of Chelsea’s emphatic 5-1 victory against Bournemouth, where he found the net and João Pedro claimed two goals.
The two players give Chelsea an attacking threat built not only on goals but also on movement and work away from the ball. Rogers believes João Pedro’s work on the training ground contributes to his effectiveness in front of goal; he said that scoring and getting into the box account for much of his teammate’s focus.
