Sabadell can call on Yussif Owusu from Sunday’s game against Burgos: his registration has been approved and he is now eligible to play officially for the club. His arrival had already been announced, but administrative difficulties delayed the validation of his registration by a month and a half. He will wear number 18.
Owusu had already travelled with the team to Ceuta in the hope of being cleared in time, but he was ultimately left out of the squad. Coach Ferran Costa confirmed he would be available for the trip to Burgos and praised his potential: “He is available and will be in the squad. He is a young player and we believe he has a lot of potential. We have to take things step by step to give him what he needs.”
A 20-year-old English national with Ghanaian ancestry, Owusu came through Chelsea’s youth ranks before joining Brighton in 2022. His arrival at Sabadell is also set to mark his first experience of professional football in Spain.
