Habib Oueslati’s brace gives Nawroz victory

Habib Oueslati led Nawroz to a 2-0 victory over Al-Minaa on Friday evening in the tenth round of the Iraq Stars League. The Tunisian scored both goals, with his first particularly catching the supporters’ attention: an overhead kick struck from outside the penalty area.

That effort began Oueslati’s brace and put Nawroz ahead in the match. The Tunisian then scored his second goal in the third minute of first-half stoppage time. His finish came from a set piece and made the score 2-0.

The result strengthens Nawroz’s position near the top of the table. The team now has 21 points and sits second in the Iraqi league, two points behind leaders Al-Karma. The win over Al-Minaa therefore gives Nawroz an important result in the race near the top, while Oueslati’s brace proved decisive in the outcome.
